Dear CRPUSD Community,
Over the last few weeks, we have walked through the story of our budget challenges and the steps we have taken to prepare options. We explained the structural deficit and its multi-year impact, showed how lower enrollment/ADA, rising health and operating costs, and the expiration of one-time grants had created an ongoing gap. We outlined how unrestricted and restricted funds worked, what reserves looked like under state and local policies, and shared multi-year projections in baseline, optimistic, and conservative scenarios.
