Independent Study Program
Our Independent Study program offers a flexible, personalized learning option for students who thrive in alternative learning environments. Designed to meet the same rigorous academic standards as traditional classroom settings, this program supports students who may need scheduling flexibility due to health or unique learning needs. Students receive individualized instruction and support while maintaining a strong connection to their school community.
We partner with Imagine Learning™?, an online curriculum provider that utilizes Edgenuity™courseware to deliver high-quality, standards-based instruction. Each student is supported by both a District teacher and a virtual instructor, ensuring academic progress and engagement. Students meet weekly with their District teacher and have the option to schedule additional one-on-one appointments as needed.
Is Independent Study Right for Your Student?
Independent Study is best suited for students who are self-motivated, organized, and able to manage their time effectively. Successful Independent Study learners are proactive in asking for help, comfortable using technology, and capable of working independently on academic tasks. Parental or guardian support is also essential to help monitor progress and ensure consistent engagement.
Next Steps
To begin the process:

Parent/guardian must complete the Independent Study Interest Form.

Student must complete the Student Questionnaire.
- Once both forms are submitted, the request will be reviewed and a team meeting will be scheduled.
- During the meeting, the team will review the request and the student’s needs to determine appropriate placement.
- If the student is accepted into the Independent Study program, a Master Agreement will be sent for signature.
- An onboarding meeting will then be scheduled to prepare the student and family for a successful start.
