Welcome to Food Service

Welcome to Food Service

Welcome to Cotati-Rohnert Park Unified School District Food Services Department! We hope that the Food Services Department will be a big part of your student’s daily experience!

California has implemented Universal Free meals at school. No application is required to receive this free meal benefit. Completing the National School Lunch Program application is never required but could provide valuable funding for your students school.

However, your child(ren) may qualify for additional benefits such as reduced fees for testing, internet service, regional park entry pass or the Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer (P-EBT) which is a federal temporary emergency nutrition benefit that is loaded onto electronic cards for families to purchase food. At public schools, your application also helps the school qualify for education funds.

If at any time you have questions concerning the cafeteria, please call the Food Service Office at 707-588-5621

Allergies And Food Intolerances

New guidelines have been established for serving children with Food Allergies and Food Intolerances:

If your student has turned in a “Doctors note” describing a food allergy or intolerance the CRPUSD child nutrition department is now being directed to have an updated form each year. We are no longer able to accept a doctor’s note on a prescription pad as sufficient information. We must have the California Department of Education’s form on file in the Child Nutrition Department office before we are able to accommodate any special dietary need. This form is available on our website or we can mail you a copy. Accommodation of any non-life threatening food intolerance will be done on a case by case basis.

Policy For Handling Discrimination Complaints

Policy: All cafeterias will display the updated nondiscrimination poster in a prominent location for public viewing in the serving area.

Procedures: The unit supervisor will:
1. Listen to parent complaints or concerns, try to answer questions, and provide them with a discrimination complaint form to be completed. 2. The completed form will be forwarded to the district Child Nutrition Director who will then forward it on to the CDE and USDA.
