Virtual Learning Academy Program

Personalized Online Learning for Student Success

The Cotati-Rohnert Park Unified School District values diversity, and has created an environment where all students are honored, accepted and engaged in a dynamic social learning community. The Virtual Learning Academy is a voluntary independent study program for 6-12 grade students. Our staff works collaboratively to foster critical thinking, empathy, academic excellence, civic engagement, respect, open communication and a sense of community for all students. Our goal is for every student to graduate from high school with the skills, work ethic, opportunity and ambition to pursue further education or a career path that they are passionate about. Educating students is why we do what we do.

Orientation and Schedule

Thank you for your interest in the CRPUSD VLA Program. All students interested in the program must complete the Interest Form and attend one Orientation Meeting with their parent/guardian. Only students and guardians on the Interest Form will be invited to the Orientations. Once a student attends the Orientation, then the family completes the Master Agreement. New students are accepted at the start of each quarter. There are no students accepted in the middle of the quarter. Classes begin and end on a quarter system schedule.

There are multiple Orientation Meetings for the student and parent/guardian to choose from:

Edgenuity at CRPUSD

CRPUSD, in partnership with Imagine Learning, utilizes Edgenuity, a comprehensive online learning platform. The courses are all aligned with the CA State Standards. Each course has a CA credential Instructor that provides educational support, monitors progress, encourages engagement, evaluates work completed and assigns grades. Students interact daily with Edgenuity’s video instruction, practice, assignments, essays, projects, presentations, quizzes, tests and exams. Courses meet A-G guidelines for 4 year colleges and NCAA eligibility. Edgenuity offers a wide variety of core courses, electives, credit recovery and CTE.
